Pre-Americas birthday we headed to Old Town for a family dinner. The must go-to spot used to be Casa de Pico before they moved to La Mesa, but now there is Casa de Reyes.

CdR is decent, location is ideal, atmosphere is lively, and their chips have a tasty seasoning. They do get a big fat F in quoting wait time though.

I ordered the shrimp enchiladas which were covered in a jalapeño cream sauce and our server complimented me on my choice. This dish was causing major plate envy for my sister-in-law, but luckily I’m really good at sharing.

Later, Ryan’s aunt insisted on ordering dessert and to show how polite I was, I had to try it or I mean try both of them! She ordered churros to dip in melted chocolate and deep fried ice cream.

I pretty much became the butt of the joke asking if this was all part of my training diet for my upcoming tri? Which to their surprise it is all part of my tri diet - an appetizer, an entree and a dessert - tri meals! Training is hard work!
