I have added a few new titles in life - wife and mom. These new roles involve two other people that I spend most of my of time and energy on. To keep me sane, I plan to satisfy a craving a day. Let it be eating delicious food by releasing my inner foodie, could be finishing a race to push myself further than I thought, might be working on different crafts to fulfill my desire of creativity, or might be something as simple as saving a ton of money with a great coupon.

The girls, Ryan and I headed over to Bootlegger tonight for birthday drinks for Ms. Kristine and to secret shop the joint. I went with their virgin Mr. Pibb’s rootbeer float. Topped with three cherries, a little too much foam, and overall was a fun happy hour drink!

Maybe next time I’ll try their slider challenge. Still not 100% sure what it is since we were told 4 different things, but I know there is a time limit, lots of food, and possibly a rootbeer float.

Fried food from Chili’s is ok when you bike to and from the restaurant. Plus, it taste better when it is half price too.

Happy hour at The Corner in East Village definitely makes me a happy girl! My co-workers and I went out to downtown for some snacks and a drink after work the other day.

Kristine and I did most of the ordering since we were the early birds. We started with tater tots, mini corn dogs, and sweet potato fries. Once the rest of the gang arrived they added on a plate of fried pickles.

Tots are always a good time, but I couldn’t finish my corn dog. It reminded me of my days in college where that is all I could afford and ate too many of them back in the day. I think I am scarred for life.

I usually despise sweet potatoes, but these fries actually won me over. I was really surprised that I liked them so much. They were not overly sweet and the dipping sauce disguised them more like a normal french fry.

I had already gorged myself on enough fried food for the month, but had to take a bite of the fried pickle for research reasons of course. These were not a typical fried pickle. I’m used to seeing little slices, but these were the whole pickle spear. I was told by our server that many guests come in and request a specific chef to make them because he does it the best. My bite the crunchy fried coating came off, which I was ok with and just ate the pickle. Interesting dish.

The Corner is a great local hang out, I highly recommend checking them out!
